19-year-old survives emergency brain surgery in Abia

A 19-year-old motorcycle accident victim underwent emergency brain surgery at the Abia State Specialist Hospital and Diagnostic Centre in Umuahia. The surgery, which took place after the victim was brought in on October 4, involved the evacuation of over 100 millilitres of blood clot compressing his brainstem.
