Residents and traders in Ekit Itam 2 and Mbak Itam 3 communities, located in Itu Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, are facing significant challenges due to severe flooding and the collapse of roads. This situation has been exacerbated by heavy-duty trucks using the roads, which has led to the deterioration of the infrastructure. The flooding has disrupted commercial activities in these areas, which are known for their trading centers for palm oil, timber, livestock, and jewellery.
