Aro Neuropsychiatric Hospital nurses issue 21-day ultimatum to management

Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital, Abeokuta, Ogun

Nurses at the Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital, Aro, located in Abeokuta, Ogun State, have issued a 21-day ultimatum to the hospital management regarding serious deficiencies in their working conditions. This announcement was made by the National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives (NANNM) on October 24, 2026. The nurses are demanding improvements in staffing levels and the provision of essential medical equipment, which they claim are currently lacking in the facility.

The nurses highlighted the absence of basic medical supplies such as thermometers, weighing scales, oxygen cylinders, and glucometers, which are critical for patient care. The association's representatives have expressed their concerns about the impact of these shortages on their ability to provide adequate care to patients. As of now, the management has not publicly responded to the ultimatum, and the situation remains tense as the nurses prepare for potential protests if their demands are not met within the specified timeframe.
