Ebola: Uganda seeks Nigerian woman’s travel history from FG

Uganda, Abuja, FCT

On October 20, 2026, Uganda's Ministry of Health announced that it was seeking detailed travel history information from Nigeria regarding a Nigerian woman who tested positive for Ebola. The woman had traveled from Uganda to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, where her infection was confirmed by Nigerian health authorities.

The Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) reported that the woman is currently isolated, and 44 individuals who had contact with her are being monitored for symptoms. The NCDC has urged the public to remain calm amid concerns over travel screening delays. Officials are actively managing the situation as they trace contacts and monitor the health of those potentially exposed to the virus.
