How Gunmen Killed Plateau Traditional Ruler – Community Leader

On October 13, 2026, Da Jatau Yohanna Samkwar, the traditional ruler of Daffo community in Bokkos Local Government Area, Plateau State, was shot by gunmen suspected to be Fulani herdsmen. The incident occurred at his residence, and he was subsequently taken to a hospital in Mangu, where he succumbed to his injuries hours later.

Reports indicate that the attack on Samkwar may have been a revenge act following the recent release of his son from kidnappers.
